Sydney Avenue at Howard Avenue Road Reconstruction Update

ENWIN Utilities, as the operating partner of Windsor Utilities Commission (WUC), provides the following update on the ongoing road and watermain reconstruction in the Howard Avenue and Sydney Avenue area:

  • Work continues with WUC’s contractor, ENWIN and the City of Windsor to complete all required testing and approvals before restoration.
  • While substantial progress has been made, some sections of the watermain work and road restoration are pending testing and final approval, as we remain committed to ensuring all work meets the highest standards for safety, longevity and reliability.
  • As communicated by the City of Windsor, sections of Sydney Avenue are expected to reopen in the coming weeks, weather permitting, with full reopening anticipated by the last week of December.
  • Paving activity is anticipated toward the end of next week, weather-permitting, on several nearby road segments: E.C. Row Avenue between Marentette and Woodlawn; Turner Road between North Service and Digby; and Turner Road between Parkdale and Grand Marais. This work will consist of temporary asphalt installations to maintain safe travel through the winter.

ENWIN thanks the community for their patience and understanding as we work together to complete these critical infrastructure improvements.

Updates on progress and reopening schedules will continue to be shared through the City of Windsor’s official channels; for more information, please contact 311 or visit the City of Windsor’s Construction and Detours database at CityWindsor.ca.
