Why is a convenience fee required? There are several low or no-cost means to pay your bill at EnWin. These include, pre-authorized payment, equal payment plan, e-Post, writing a cheque, placing a payment in one of our drop boxes. Even so, many customers still prefer to pay by credit card. Credit card companies charge businesses like EnWin a percentage of the payment for processing it. As a regulated utility, the entire amount of your payment is spoken for - some of the percentage goes to the generators, some to the transmitters, some to the market operator and some for debt retirement. Only 26% of your payment stays with EnWin. Therefore, to be fair to all customers, we have to ensure that the users of the credit card service pay for the service.
How much will I be paying in convenience fees? The convenience fee is incremental; in other words, customers will pay a flat fee of $5.95 per $250.00 payment increments as per the following chart:
| PAYMENT AMOUNT | CONVENIENCE FEE AMOUNT |
|---|---|
| Up to $250.00 | $5.95 |
| $250.01 - $500.00 | $11.90 |
| $500.01 - $750.00 | $17.85 |
| $750.01 - $1,000.00 | $23.80 |
If you wish to make a credit card payment of $265.25 click on the Continue button above or telephone 1-866-904-4452. You will be prompted to input your account number, credit card number along with the expiry date and the payment amount of $265.25. You will be asked to acknowledge that you agree to pay the convenience fee of $11.90 along with the payment. If you agree, your credit card will be charged $277.15 ($265.25 + $11.90). You will receive a confirmation number.
