Project Porchlight

EnWin Utilities, together with One Change (a not-for-profit group) is conducting the Project Porchlight program. Through Project Porchlight every household in Windsor will receive a free compact fluorescent light bulb. Volunteers in the community are going door-to-door to deliver each household a bulb! Also, Project Porchlight volunteers can be found at many local events in Windsor where they are also "spreading the light."

Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs

Compact Fluorescent light bulbs, or CFL's, use up to 70% less energy than a standard incandescent bulb while giving off the same light, and lasting up to seven times longer. By replacing one incandescent bulb in your home with a CFL, you can save up to $50 off your energy bill over the lifetime of the CFL.

CFL's have drastically changed within the past few years: they come in a variety of bulbs to fit almost any fixture, give off the same white light that we're used to from incandescent bulbs, and turn on instantly. So for those of you who've tried CFL's in the past and were unsatisfied, here's your chance to see the difference for free!

A CFL saves up to 2000 times its own weight in greenhouse gases over its lifetime! So switch a bulb and help save the environment!
