When you enrol in peaksaver, your central air conditioning system will be automatically adjusted when demand for electricity is at its highest. In just a few simple steps, you can join over 170,000 other Ontarian households in helping to reduce the strain on our electricity system and the environment. And since the temperature in your home would only be adjusted by 1-2°C in the summer, and just on weekdays during the day, it won't affect your comfort. Plus peaksaver is free to join and you can opt out at any time, so you always remain in control. Finally, you'll receive $25 just for joining.
What you should know:
- When you register we'll install a device that allows us to send a wireless signal to cycle down your air conditioner. We'll never turn off your A/C - only cycle it...the temperature will only ever be adjusted by 1-2°C.
- We'll never cycle down your A/C on the weekend or on a Holiday.
- The maximum amount of time the A/C can be cycled down is 4 hours/day
You can make a difference! By participating, you and thousands of others will allow us to reduce the strain on the electrical system during peak periods. By doing very little on your part, you are making a significant contribution to conserving electricity and helping to improve our environment.
How Do I Sign Up?
To be eligible you must be a homeowner of a single-family home with a central cooling system. We'll do all the work at no expense to you. In fact, you'll even receive $25 off you utility bill and a FREE programmable thermostat just for signing up.
