MEER Program
Multifamily Energy Efficiency Rebates (MEER) is a Province-wide electricity conservation initiative that offers financial incentives for energy audits and energy efficiency projects that reduce peak electricity demand (kW) and /or electricity consumption (kWh) in existing multifamily residential buildings.
If you are a building owner or manager of an existing Ontario multifamily residential building of at least six self-contained residential units you may qualify for valuable money-saving incentives! This initiative can cover up to 50% of your total eligible project costs!
A variety of measures are available for financial incentives such as:
- Lighting (re-lamping, fixture changes, compact fluorescent installation)
- Appliances
- HVAC upgrades
- Motors and Variable Speed Drives (VSDs)
- Controls (thermostats, sensors, building automation systems)
- Building Envelope (ie. Window Replacement)
Every approved application is eligible for FREE Resident Education which includes useful energy saving tips and information for tenants.
If you have already completed, or will soon complete a project, you may also be eligible for the rebates. Energy efficiency projects that were started after January 1, 2008 and are either complete or will be completed before January 15th, 2010 are eligible for MEER retroactively.
Working together to implement your energy savings iniatives: reducing harmful emissions, creating "Green Jobs" across the Province and saving you money!
